From here we shall continue to the Small Hermitage, then to the priceless masterpieces exhibited in other areas of the Hermitage building. The Hermitage museum was the residence of the Russian Emperors in the past; nowadays it comprises five palaces and is one of the largest museums in the world.

Lunch:

Lunch today will be taken at Yat restaurant, it’s a legendary homemade-style Russian cuisine restaurant located in the very heart of St. Petersburg on Moika River embankment next to the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella and the Alexander Pushkin Apartment Museum.

Orientation tour

This afternoon, enjoy an orientation tour of our fascinating city. This is a city of infinite charm, with its majestic palaces, churches and cathedrals, river embankments, beautiful parks and numerous bridges – a city of imperial proportions and romantic vistas which has been a source of inspiration for generations of artists. Visit the Peter and Paul Fortress, the historical nucleus of the city as well as one of the most interesting and beautiful architectural landmarks. The Peter & Paul Cathedral with its long gilded spire is the burial place of all Russian emperors from Peter the Great to the last of the Romanovs – Tsar Nicholas II. Designed to protect newly acquired lands in the mouth of the Neva River, the fortress lost its military significance before it was completed. It was turned into the most dismal political prison of Russia for almost 200 years. Then you will take you private boat and enjoy our beautiful city from the rivers and canals.

Evening activities:

This evening enjoy your dinner in the fancy restaurant L. Brik. The theme of the restaurant L.BRIK opened in November 2016 on Puskinskyaya street is inspired by the “muse of Russian avant-garde” Lilya Brik. The huge windows of the restaurant overlook the monument to “the eternal Sun of Russian poetry” A. Pushkin, and the street where «L.BRIK CAFE» is located is the legendary bohemian haven of 70th-80th of XX c.

Day 3 – Tsar’s treasures

Catherine’s palace and park in Tsarskoe selo (Pushkin)

This morning, take a transfer to Pushkin, home of the magnificent Catherine Palace, once the official summer residence of Russian Tsars. A pearl of Russian Baroque architecture, the palace was built in 1752 for the Empress Catherine.

The most famous room here is the Amber Room, looted by the Nazis during World War II and completely restored in 2003. Surrounding the palace is a park covering more than 570 hectares with bridges, terraces, fountains and small galleries.

Lunch:

You will take your lunch at one of the palace’s pavilions – Hermitage Kitchen. After a stunning visit to Tsarskoye Selo State Museum Preserve and the Palace of Ekaterina, you might want to have a lunch. This is a perfect place! It is cute, cozy. Drive to neighbouring little town of Pavlovsk to take a horse ride through the Pavlovsk park and enjoy tour to the palave. The Palace at Pavlovsk is not grand in dimensions, but designed with the elegant restraint of severe neoclassicism it nonetheless impresses, and has some beautifully decorated interiors.

Evening activities:

Cooking class of national dishes in the “Culinary School No. 1” in St. Petersburg will help you learn more about the cuisine of Russia and the CIS countries, learn all the subtleties and secrets of cooking all your favorite dishes. You can cook on of the menus for your choice: Russian, Georgian, Uzbek or Ukrainian.

Day 4 - underground palaces and stunning fountains

After breakfast you will take a transfer to see one of the most beautiful metros in the world! Entering St. Petersburg subway, you can easily mix the station with the magnificent palace hall or five-star hotel lobby. It’s not an accident! Many stations are true works of art. They are all made of marble and richly decorated with mosaics, sculptures and stained glass to represent the prosperity and power of Soviet Union. And behind this beauty there’s an astonishing history, jokes, stories and legends.

Then you will take your transfer to one of the most beautiful places of our city – Petergof!

Lunch: Shtandart restaurant. The restaurant is located in a restored under the old drawings house of the guard Nazarov, who served here in the time of the Empress Catherine.

On the Peterhof tour we’ll see world famous summer residence of Peter the Great, the true Russian Versailles with more than 150 fountains and 250 magnificent statues. We’ll also see luxurious interiors of the Grand Palace and have a walk around Upper and Lower park, beautifully lanscaped and decorated with statues and fountains.

Evening activities:

@page { margin: 2cm } p { margin-bottom: 0.25cm; direction: ltr; color: #000000; line-height: 115%; orphans: 2; widows: 2 } p.western { font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; so-language: ru-RU } p.cjk { font-family: "Calibri", sans-serif; font-size: 11pt } p.ctl { font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 11pt; so-language: ar-SA }

May be some spices? You will visit one of the oldest Georgian restaurants in St. Petersburg. This restaurant is practically part of the history of the city. "Kat" has been working in its place for many years; during this time, its rules and recipes have been settled here, verified by thousands of guests. The interior corresponds to the status: the halls look solid and somewhat pretentious, but the restaurant located in the very center of the city can be forgiven. The Kat menu is famous for its salads and kebabs, and the owners swear that their establishment is “a little more than just a good restaurant.” You will check it yourself!

Day 5 – tank ride
